The Bradford Owls's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 57-32 loss at the hands of Punxsutawney. Bradford has struggled against Punxsutawney recently, as their game on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Punxsutawney was led to victory by Danielle Griebel and Avary Powell. Griebel dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 assists, while Powell scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Griebel's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Doverspike, who scored six points.
Bradford's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Punxsutawney, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Bradford will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oil City at 7:15 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Punxsutawney will be home for the holidays to greet Clarion Area at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Clarion Area will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Punxsutawney is ranked 33rd).
