The Ventura Cougars can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 68-33 win over Dos Pueblos. The victory was nothing new for Ventura as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Ventura was led to victory by Skyler Knight and Kailee Staniland. Knight scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Staniland scored 20 points along with six assists and five steals. Staniland hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Jessie Sebek, who scored ten points.
Ventura pushed their record up to 19-3 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.87 points. As for Dos Pueblos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ventura will challenge Pacifica at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pacifica will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 714th, while Ventura is ranked 27th). Dos Pueblos on the road again on Saturday and play against Rio Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Rio Mesa has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
