The Argonaut Mustangs will head out to face off against the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Argonaut will be strutting in after a victory while Cosumnes Oaks will be coming in after a defeat.
Argonaut let Calaveras stack five runs on them in the sixth inning on Wednesday but luckily Argonaut prevailed anyway. The Mustangs walked away with a 9-6 win over the Red Hawks. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Red Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Grady Nash made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Argonaut let Jacob Teravskis and Jayden Logan run wild. Teravskis went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, while Logan went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave Logan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julian Constance, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Cosumnes Oaks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Casa Roble. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wolfpack have suffered since April 15, 2025.
Cosumnes Oaks also got a good showing from Dylan Dennings, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Mike Bourtayre and Jay McIntyre stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bourtayre got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while McIntyre went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That RBI marked the first that Bourtayre has brought in this season. John King was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
Argonaut's record is now 4-2. As for Cosumnes Oaks, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Argonaut couldn't quite finish off Cosumnes Oaks when the teams last played back in February of 2025 and fell 5-3. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
