The Plumas Charter Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Weed Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Plumas Charter entered their tilt with Paradise Adventist Academy with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Plumas Charter strolled past Paradise Adventist Academy with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 48-30.
Plumas Charter can attribute much of their success to Liz Trail, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Kali Banks, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Weed put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mt. Shasta 49-21 on the road. Given Weed's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while Mt. Shasta is ranked 1126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Renaissance Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 15 games she's played. Alayja Oliver was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Plumas Charter's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7. As for Weed, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.
