Woodcrest Christian easily dispatched Adelanto on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Western Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against The Webb Schools by a score of 11-7 on Wednesday. The Fighting Lancers haven't had any issues with the Gauls recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Josh Turner made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Western Christian's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 3-1 (and 4-7 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Stradley, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Western Christian is 3-1 when Stradley posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jacob Casas, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Western Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Western Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Woodcrest Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
