It was a good run, but the Leuzinger Olympians unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost to Windward at home by a decisive 70-53 margin.
Leuzinger's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Madison Watts, who scored 21 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Watts scored a full 39.6% of Leuzinger's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dresha Moore, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Leuzinger's loss dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Windward, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Leuzinger will square off against Harvard-Westlake at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Windward, they will head out on the road to face off against Orangewood Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
