The Kennedy Fighting Irish's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pacifica. While losing is never fun, Kennedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 613th, while Pacifica is ranked 267th).
Kennedy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Madeleine Hsu, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 2 assists. Hsu continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Elizabeth Tirona was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Kennedy bumped their record down to 8-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Pacifica, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-4.
Kennedy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Valencia at 6:15 p.m. on January 19th. As for Pacifica, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cypress at 6:15 p.m. Hopefully Cypress focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
