Northeast is a perfect 5-0 against Harrisburg since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bearcats will host the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Northeast 2.3, Harrisburg 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Harrisburg will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Northeast extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Bearcats blew past Slater 14-1. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.
Olivia Cross and Jaycee David were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Cross pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, David pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cross has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Cross went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while David went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Chloe Brumley was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tinley Jaecques, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Northeast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Harrisburg never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They came out on top against Sturgeon by a score of 5-0. Harrisburg hasn't had any issues with Sturgeon recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Northeast's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Harrisburg, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Everything went Northeast's way against Harrisburg in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Northeast made off with a 6-0 win. Do the Bearcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
