The North Buncombe Black Hawks pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 72-56 to McDowell. North Buncombe has struggled against McDowell recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Black Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Brown, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. Trent Clark was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Rylan Parkins was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points for McDowell. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Elliott, who scored nine points.
North Buncombe's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for McDowell, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Enka the next time they take the court. McDowell will host Enka at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, while North Buncombe will host them at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
