If the Fallston Cougars were feeling good off their 76-31 takedown of the North East Indians last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fallston took a 75-57 bruising from the Mustangs on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Fallston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Mustangs are ranked 41st).
C. Milton Wright was led to victory by Cayne Woodland and Dylan Sander. Woodland dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists, while Sander dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Woodland posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Larry Thompson, who scored 17 points.
Fallston now has a losing record at 6-7. As for C. Milton Wright, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
Fallston won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Mariners at 6:45 p.m. on February 2nd. One thing working in Joppatowne's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests. As for C. Milton Wright, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Arundel is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
