West Forsyth has gone a perfect 6-0 against Chattahoochee recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The West Forsyth Wolverines will venture away from home to challenge the Chattahoochee Cougars at 4:00 p.m. West Forsyth is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for West Forsyth after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Effingham County. The loss was the Wolverines' first of the season.
West Forsyth got a good showing from Jai Pandya, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, West Forsyth saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gunnar Ponche, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Ponche also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
Meanwhile, while Chattahoochee put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Northview. Chattahoochee walked away with a 4-0 win over Northview. The Cougars have beaten the Titans the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Titans has come to flipping the script.
Drew O'Neill looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those no hits gave him a new career-low.
At the plate, Evan Lucas was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, he also posted three hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Noah Brady was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
The victory got Chattahoochee back to even at 1-1. As for West Forsyth, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
West Forsyth beat Chattahoochee 5-2 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Forsyth since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
