Poly is 8-2 against Arleta since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Poly Parrots will head out on the road to square off against the Arleta Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Poly scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 72-2 victory over Monroe. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-2.
Poly's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jhada Cordon, who scored ten points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jochelle Golez, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Arleta had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They blew past Chavez 73-17 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Arleta has posted since December 8, 2023.
Poly is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Arleta, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9.
Poly was able to grind out a solid victory over Arleta in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 34-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poly since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
