Logan Mojica was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Rosemead: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Sebastian Genie was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain View). They blew past El Monte 15-4 on Monday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
ADAM ALCANTAR was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. ALCANTAR was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on ALEX MORENO, who went 3-for-6 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was LUKE DAVILA, who went 2-for-6 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Mountain View hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.
Rosemead's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Mountain View, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
Rosemead couldn't quite get it done against Mountain View when the teams last played on April 2nd as they fell 5-2. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
