In what's become a running theme this season, the Northwestern Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 52-25 win over Girard. Winning may never get old, but Northwestern sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Northwestern found their leader in underclassman Makayla Presser-palmer, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Presser-palmer has scored at least a third of Northwestern's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Schwartz, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Northwestern has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Girard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwestern will take on Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Northwestern is coming into the match with three straight victories at home, meaning Seneca will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Girard will take on Iroquois at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Girard is facing Iroquois at the right time seeing as Iroquois is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
