It was a good run, but the Desert Christian Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Gregory School. Desert Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as The Gregory School apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Desert Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jonathan Brown, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds. Brown has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyson Dobbins, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
The Gregory School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Razin Smith, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Smith hasn't dropped below two blocks for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Dickinson, who scored 15 points along with six assists.

Desert Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against San Miguel at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. San Miguel will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Desert Christian is ranked 113th). The Gregory School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
