The victory was all the more spectacular given Brighton's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while St. George's is ranked 125th).
Destiny Pruitt continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with eight steals. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for her. Mariah Maclin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Brighton's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for St. George's, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brighton will take on Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arlington has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20. As for St. George's, they will head out on the road to face off against Kirby at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kirby is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
