Freeport has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Freeport suffered their biggest loss since December 6, 2023 on Monday. They were the victim of a tough 53-31 defeat at the hands of Greensburg Salem. While losing is never fun, Freeport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 434th, while Greensburg Salem is ranked 125th).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Valley, who are still winless after their ninth game. They had to suffer through a rough 77-14 loss at the hands of Highlands.
Freeport's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Valley, they bumped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Freeport strolled past Valley in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 53-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Freeport since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
