Taft has gone a perfect 7-0 against Delano recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Taft will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
It was a proper cat-fight when Taft took on McFarland on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Cougars 18-1. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.
William Espinoza and Cash Clark made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Espinoza tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Clark tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Taft is undefeated when Espinoza allows one or fewer hits, but 6-13 otherwise. At bat, Espinoza went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Clark went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits Clark has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Clark, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Blayne Farkas was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Taft always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Delano fell victim to Shafter and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Generals, falling 7-0. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Generals: they've now lost six in a row.
Taft's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Delano, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
Taft took their win against Delano in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
