Basketball Recap: California's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

It was a good run, but California unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Walnut Mustangs by a score of 42-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Condors have suffered since January 31st.

Walnut got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Claire Olia out in front who posted 18 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Olia has scored at least a third of Walnut's points. Another player making a difference was Andrinna Baramucci, who put up seven points and 12 rebounds.

California's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4. As for Walnut, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

California will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Sonora at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Walnut and Estancia will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Walnut has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
