The Village Christian Crusaders had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They really took it to Eisenhower for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-31 win on the road. With Village Christian ahead 38-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Village Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alanna Neale, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. The match was Neale's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryanne Lopez-Wood, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camiya Horton, who scored ten points. Leyla Payan was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Village Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Eisenhower, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Canyon the next time they take the court. Eisenhower will head out to face Canyon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Village Christian will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
