Basketball Game Preview: Omaha Westside Warriors vs. Millard North Mustangs

Omaha Westside is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Millard North is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Omaha Westside Warriors will host the Millard North Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Omaha Westside knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Millard North likes a good challenge.

If Millard North heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Omaha Westside took over last week. Omaha Westside was the clear victor by a 70-48 margin over Papillion-LaVista South on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Warriors have posted against the Titans since January 2, 2018.

Omaha Westside found their leader in sophomore Gueryn Kay, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kay has scored all season. Kimora Jenkins was another key player, putting up 16 points and eight rebounds.

Omaha Westside was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Millard North and Millard South faced off in a cross-town battle on Friday. Millard North came out on top against Millard South by a score of 41-30.

Omaha Westside has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Millard North, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

Omaha Westside came up short against Millard North in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 52-48. Can Omaha Westside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
