It was a good run, but the Jonathan Alder Pioneers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-37 to West Liberty-Salem. Jonathan Alder has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
West Liberty-Salem's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chaley Wade, who scored eight points along with 19 rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Weaver, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Jonathan Alder's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for West Liberty-Salem, their win bumped their record up to 16-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jonathan Alder will take on the Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Liberty-Salem, they will play host again and welcome the Cardinals, where tip off is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Triad focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Wednesday.
