The Olympian Eagles won the last time they faced the Fallbrook Warriors, and things went their way on Monday too. Olympian walked away with a 61-50 win over Fallbrook.
Asia Darcuiel was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 11 steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Alyssa Agpaoa was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven assists and two steals.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grace Nordeen, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 22 rebounds. Nordeen is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Janice Garcia, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Fallbrook smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Olympian only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Olympian's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Fallbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Olympian will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Carlsbad at 9:00 a.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Carlsbad is ranked 385th, while Olympian is ranked 368th). As for Fallbrook, they will be playing at home against Valley Center at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
