Baseball Recap: Lincoln Has No Trouble Against Kimball

Lincoln won the last time they faced Kimball and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Trojans put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 12-1 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Izaak Hill looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aiden Williams was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Lincoln is 3-1 when Williams posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Glaser, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Lincoln and bumps their season record up to 7-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Kimball, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10.

Lincoln will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Jaguars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
