There's no place like home for the La Jolla Vikings, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They managed a 41-36 win over High Tech SD on Friday. The score was all tied up 18-18 at the break, but La Jolla was the better team in the second half.
La Jolla's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nika Moradi, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moradi has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Bennett, who scored ten points along with four steals.
High Tech SD lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Vivianna Cravens, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Cravens is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Emma LaSalle was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine rebounds and eight steals.
Even though they lost, High Tech SD smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Jolla only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
La Jolla's win bumped their record up to 15-12. As for High Tech SD, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-7.
La Jolla does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for High Tech SD, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Orange Glen at 7:00 p.m. High Tech SD is facing Orange Glen at the right time seeing as Orange Glen is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
