After a string of eight wins, Logan/Palco's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northern Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Logan/Palco still got an impressive performance from Rhett Kats, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 50.9% of Logan/Palco's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Morgan, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Northern Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Drew Schemper out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenton Thalheim, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Logan/Palco's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Northern Valley, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Logan/Palco will head out on the road to challenge the Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thunder Ridge is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Northern Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in their respective states (Alma is ranked 66th in Nebraska, while the Huskies are ranked 90th in Kansas).
