Basketball Recap: St. Anthony's Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

St. Anthony entered their tilt with Kellenberg Memorial on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 72-61 win over the Kellenberg Memorial Firebirds. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Friars also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

St. Anthony's got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was James Taylor Jr. out in front who went 6 for 8 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Taylor Jr. has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Vieux, who went 5 of 11 en route to 16 points.

St. Anthony's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. As for Kellenberg Memorial, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

St. Anthony's will square off against Central at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Kellenberg Memorial, they will venture away from home to square off against Holy Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Kellenberg Memorial is facing Holy Trinity at the right time seeing as Holy Trinity is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
