Aquinas Academy's win came from a few key players Serra Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Elliot Keverline, who went 8-for-14 on her way to 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals. What's more, she also posted a 57% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Kay Chufo was another key player, going 6-for-12 to rack up 12 points and eight boards.
Aquinas Academy pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.0 points over those games. As for Serra Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Serra Catholic has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Aquinas Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
