The Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils were the 59-56 winner over the Columbia Crimson Tide when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Greencastle-Antrim's2023 ended with a 55-40 loss against Columbia on Friday. Greencastle-Antrim has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Despite the defeat, Greencastle-Antrim saw an underclassman step up: Ellie Bilger scored nine points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bilger has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Haley Noblit, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Greencastle-Antrim's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Columbia, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greencastle-Antrim and Big Spring will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Big Spring is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Columbia, they will head out on the road to face off against Delone Catholic at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
