Big Game from Sawyer As Dixie Won 35-34
Starting off the list is Dixie's Ran Sawyer, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Sawyer rushed for 221 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 85-yard run.
Sawyer must have Cedar's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Sawyer last faced the Reds back in September of 2023, he picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 82 yards on only seven carries.

Everett Kelling Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Cedar had to settle for second even though Everett Kelling put up the best numbers he has all season. Kelling threw for 315 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 33 yards.
Kelling and Cedar will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Desert Hills at 7:00 p.m. on October 16th. Kelling will face off against Gerritt Grondel, the Thunder's star QB. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.

Broc Mooy Crosses Big Stat Threshold
On Friday, Desert Hills got the W thanks in part to Broc Mooy playing the best football he has all season. Mooy picked up four sacks, forced a fumble, and made seven total tackles. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 5.1 total tackles per game. He is on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
Desert Hills' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Mooy and Desert Hills are on the road again on Friday to play Hurricane at 7:00 p.m.

Christiansen Came Up Big in Crimson Cliffs' 55-20 Win
Mccord Christiansen's big game helped extend Crimson Cliffs's winning streak to six on Friday. Christiansen was dynamite, rushing for 107 yards and four touchdowns. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 107 rushing yards dating back to last season.
If the past is any indication, Christiansen could be in store for another big game when he takes on Pine View on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Christiansen saw the Panthers), he rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.

A Season-Best Performance from Gerritt Grondel Leads Desert Hills over Snow Canyon
Desert Hills was led to victory by Gerritt Grondel, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Grondel threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown.
This season, Grondel has thrown 7 touchdowns while averaging 164.7 passing yards per game.
