It was a good run, but the Manteca Buffaloes unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 55-44 to East Union. Manteca was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East Union apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Several Buffaloes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jada Ikharo, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Izabella Sanchez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Union to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nylah Dyson, who scored 23 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alessandra Montes, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Manteca's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-4. As for East Union, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.
Manteca will head out on the road to face off against Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sierra is on a three-game streak of home wins, Manteca a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. East Union will take on Kimball at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Kimball focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
