The Truckee Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Wooster at home and fell 53-20. Truckee was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-9.
Despite the defeat, Truckee saw an underclassman step up: Elsa Voegele scored eight points.
Taimane Talamoni had an outrageously good game for Wooster as she scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliitasi Bates, who scored nine points.
Truckee has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Wooster, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.
Truckee will challenge the Railroaders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sparks is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Wooster will take on the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Allowing an average of 51.9 points per game, Hug has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match.
