On Monday, DCP Alum Rock came up short against Gunderson and fell 34-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points DCP Alum Rock has scored all season.
DCP Alum Rock lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Estrella Sanchez, who scored six points along with six steals. Sanchez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Munguia, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, DCP Alum Rock struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
DCP Alum Rock's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-3. As for Gunderson, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DCP Alum Rock will take on University Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gunderson, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Del Mar at 7:00 p.m.
