Assumption entered their tilt with Davenport Central on Thursday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Blue Devils 15-1. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Assumption pushed their record up to 22-12-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Davenport Central, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-28.

Assumption and Davenport Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. The Knights (ranked 58th) will meet Xavier (ranked second) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Davenport Central will challenge Davenport West on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (236 vs. 106).
