String Theory have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to South Philadelphia at home by a decisive 36-19 margin on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points String Theory has scored all season.
Halimah Blackwell was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points for South Philadelphia. That makes it four consecutive games in which Blackwell has scored at least 25% of South Philadelphia's points. Another player making a difference was Charelle Buxton, who scored eight points.
String Theory's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for South Philadelphia, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.
String Theory's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Sayre at 3:15 p.m. on January 17th. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Sayre: 19, String Theory: 26.5) so any points scored will be well earned. As for South Philadelphia, they will head out on the road to face off against Strawberry Mansion at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Strawberry Mansion comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
