Softball Recap: Rampart Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against The Classical Academy, Rampart was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rams also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Addison Jensen made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Jensen was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Victoria Kendall was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emilie Sklenar, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Rampart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fountain-Fort Carson only posted a batting average of .138.

Rampart's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rampart will host Cheyenne Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they will be playing at home against Pueblo Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
