The Sanger West Hornets can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 41-40 win over McLane. The win was just what Sanger West needed coming off of a 65-32 loss in their prior contest.
Several Highlanders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Annalynne Sengnalyvong, who scored eight points. Jenny Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Sanger West's win bumped their record up to 8-17. As for McLane, they dropped their record down to 9-15 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Sanger West will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Toros at 6:30 p.m. Torres presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hornets in California (the Toros are ranked 460th, while the Hornets are ranked 977th). As for McLane, they will head out on the road to square off against the Rough Riders at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
