The Hickory Red Tornadoes put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 victory over Wesleyan Christian Academy. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Hickory has scored all year.
Hickory's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Izaiah Littlejohn, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Powell, who scored ten points.
Hickory's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
Hickory will head out on the road to take on West Iredell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Iredell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 643rd, while Hickory is ranked 19th). As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Grace Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
