Normal University had won five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they bumped up to 4-0 to make it six. They never let the MacArthur Generals get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The Pioneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Generals, too.
Bodey Klemmenson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Klemmenson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Chenzo Cottone was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. That hit was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Hornbrook, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As for MacArthur, they now have a losing record of 1-2. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
