The Pacific Collegiate Pumas waltzed into Friday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Pacific Bay Christian with points to spare, taking the game 37-21. For Pacific Collegiate, this counts as revenge for the 57-15 defeat Pacific Bay Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.
Despite the loss, Pacific Bay Christian saw an underclassman step up: Katelyn Cheng scored 9 points. Cheng scored a full 42.9% of Pacific Bay Christian's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Lin, who scored 5 points.
Pacific Collegiate's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Pacific Bay Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Pacific Collegiate will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on DCP Alum Rock at 5:00 p.m. on December 15th. As for Pacific Bay Christian, they will be playing at home against Burlingame at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
