St. John unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell  28-24 to the LaCrosse Leopards on Friday.  LaCrosse got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Lee Holopirek out in front who rushed for 82 yards and two  scores. Holopirek also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D,  making ten total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging  an  interception. Another player making a difference was  Christian Rush, who rushed for 106 yards and one  TD.
 St. John has  already played their next  matchup (against Ness City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for LaCrosse, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season  when they go up against Logan/Palco  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
