The Strom Thurmond Rebels had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pelion 58-15 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-8.
Katlyn Chinn was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten steals. She also posted eight assists for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawson Lowe, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Strom Thurmond is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Pelion, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
Strom Thurmond will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Silver Bluff will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. Pelion will take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Batesburg-Leesville is ranked 271st, while the Panthers are ranked 268th).
