This season hasn't been kind to The Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin Raiders, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 56-7 to Barnum, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Barnum is ranked 106th).
Barnum's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carlos Beckstrand, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Hayden Charboneau was another key contributor, throwing for 178 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes.
Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin's loss was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Moose Lake/Willow River and 9-2 Moose Lake/Willow River (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.7% over those games). As for Barnum, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Barnum will be playing at home against Aitkin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
