The Horizon Hawks will head out to face off against the Erie Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Horizon barely beat Westminster the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 12-6 win on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Kaiya Barela spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Larrissa Arvizo was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Bryanna Fontes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Horizon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westminster only posted a batting average of .207.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Erie). They blew past Monarch 17-5 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won four in a row.
Sophee Horovitz looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Erie got a massive performance out of Molly Young, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Natalie Fetters, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Horizon's record now sits at 13-5. As for Erie, their record is now 14-4.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Horizon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. However, it's not like Erie struggles in that department as they've averaged .501. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Horizon suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Erie when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
