Volleyball Recap: Discovery Canyon Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

While Discovery Canyon's win against Elizabeth wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Thunder had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Thunder also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Discovery Canyon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 24-26, 25-13, 25-23, 16-14.

Cami Fisher paced Discovery Canyon's offense, picking up ten kills. Fisher were helped by Ava Grimm and Gabby Huebner, who contributed 19 assists each. Finally, Anna Kranz kept Discovery Canyon's defense grounded, leading the team with eight blocks.

Discovery Canyon's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1. As for Elizabeth, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Discovery Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Manitou Springs on the 6th. As for Elizabeth, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Woodland Park on the 4th.
