The Channel Islands Raiders are taking a road trip to take on the Kearny Komets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Channel Islands' win against Nordhoff wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Rangers on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now won three in a row.

Isaiah Osuna was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Channel Islands is undefeated when Osuna posts three or more hits, but 4-9 otherwise. Robert Lopez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Channel Islands was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Kearny had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Colts by a score of 8-5.
Benicio Gonzalez Kim made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on DJ Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Hembera, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
The victory got Channel Islands back to even at 9-9. As for Kearny, their record now sits at 6-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Channel Islands has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kearny struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
