The Lexington Yellowjackets's game two weeks ago was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They secured a 49-44 W over West Davidson. That's another feather in the cap for Lexington, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Lexington to victory were Lily Ervin and Jayla Cowan. Ervin scored 15 points, while Cowan scored 17 points. The game was Ervin's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tay Bostic, who scored nine points.
Lexington's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9. As for West Davidson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Lexington will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Salisbury at 6:00 p.m. Salisbury presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lexington in North Carolina (Salisbury is ranked 135th, while Lexington is ranked 457th). West Davidson is on the road again on Tuesday and play against North Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th.
