Basketball Recap: Las Plumas Piles Up the Points Against Mt. Shasta

Las Plumas won the last time they faced Mt. Shasta and things went their way on Friday too. The Las Plumas Thunderbirds claimed a resounding 52-17 victory over the Mt. Shasta Bears. The Thunderbirds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 35 points or more this season.

Leading Las Plumas to victory were Ava Hepworth and Liliana Carrillo. Hepworth dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards, while Carrillo went 7 of 11 on her way to 15 points. What's more, Hepworth also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Harles, who posted five points.

With the win, Las Plumas broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6. As for Mt. Shasta, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Las Plumas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 37-19 victory against Orland on the 21st. As for Mt. Shasta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-21 defeat against Pierce on the 21st.
