The talent pool is deep in high school softball's Class of 2027. The juniors bring a mix of power hitters, dominant pitchers, speed and the ability to make plays all over the field.
Headlining our list of the top 25 juniors in the country is
Coral Williams of
Norco (Calif.). The UCLA commit led the Cougars to the Southern Section Division 1 title by throwing a no-hitter in the championship victory. That was her fourth no-hitter of the season with two of those being perfect games.
Read on for a complete look at the top 20 high school softball players in the Class of 2027. Selections were based on prior success, local and national honors and potential for breakout seasons.
1. Coral Williams, P, Norco (Calif.)
Headed to: UCLA
The flamethrower went a perfect 17-0 with a 0.59 ERA for the Southern Section Division 1 champs. In the title game Williams threw a seven-inning no-hitter with nine strikeouts.
2. Finlee Williams, IF, Melissa (Texas)
Headed to: Oklahoma
Hit .569 with 19 bombs for the defending national champs. Williams had 23 multi-hit games.
3. Hannah DeMarcus, P, Pace (Fla.)
Headed to: Auburn
Had 418 punchouts in just 175 innings. In a 12-inning win in March, DeMarcus struck out 33 batters without allowing a hit. The future Auburn Tiger also had at least 10 strikeouts in all but one game.
4. Hutton Adrian, C, Melissa
Headed to: Arkansas
Led the national champs with a .604 batting average as a sophomore. She hit for tons of power with 17 home runs and 15 doubles.
Headed to: Ohio State
Hit .631 as a sophomore for the undefeated state champs. Of her 70 hits, 37 went for extra-bases.
6. Hunter Quentel, P, Kingwood (Texas)
Headed to: Oklahoma State
Led the Mustangs to the Conference 6A Division 2 state title by striking out 177 in the spring. Quentel also made noise with the bat by hitting .458 with 16 bombs.
7. Brielle Gardiner, P, Bear River (Garland, Utah)
Headed to: Texas A&M
Last season at Ridgeline (Millville), Gardiner struck out 89 batters with a 1.45 ERA. She dominated with the bat too by bashing 17 bombs and hitting .583.
8. Kailyn Mire, Sam Houston (Lake Charles, La.)
Headed to: Uncommitted
Brought home a state championship in the spring by winning 30 games in the circle for the Broncos. In the postseason Mire had a 0.78 ERA.
9. Eloisa Maes, P, Melissa
Headed to: Arizona
Won 31 games for the national champs while striking out 238 batters across 145.1 innings. Maes struck out seven in a complete game victory over Barbers Hill in the state title game.
10. Arri Romero, P, Mater Dei Catholic (Chula Vista, Calif.)
Headed to: Arizona
Romero won 24 games for the Southern California Division 1 champs and hit .424 at the plate. She has 36 wins and a 1.52 ERA in her career.
11. Loren Sivils, IF, Calvary Baptist Academy (Shreveport, La.)
Headed to: Uncommitted
Sivils hit .436 with 12 home runs to help the Cavaliers win their fifth straight state title. That followed a freshman season where she blasted 17 homers.
12. Morgan Maxwell, P, West Forsyth (Clemmons, N.C.)
Headed to: Georgia
Maxwell had a stellar sophomore season with 14 wins and a 0.95 ERA. She was also a power hitter with seven home runs to go with a .416 batting average.
13. Macie Bryant, P, Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, Texas)
Headed to: LSU
Recorded a 0.44 ERA and 214 strikeouts for the state-runner-up.
14. Addison DeRoche, P, Cheverus (Portland, Maine)
Headed to: Florida State
Has a microscopic 0.31 ERA in 137 career innings for the Stags. With the bat, DeRoche hit .605 while powering eight home runs.
15. Mikayla Finn, P, Del Oro (Loomis, Calif.)
Headed to: Cal
Finn finished 21-1 with 210 strikeouts as the Golden Eagles made a deep postseason run in 2025. The lefty made five straight appearances in April without allowing an earned run.
16. Angie Falls, P, Xavier College Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.)
Headed to: UCSD
Falls totaled 36 wins in the circle as the Gators won state championships in her first two seasons. She is also a big-time hitter with a .448 batting average, 73 RBI and nine home runs in her career.
17. Ally Compton, UT, Munster (Ind.)
Headed to: Indiana
Did it all for the Mustangs by hitting 19 home runs with 52 RBI. In the circle Compton won 15 games and struck out 160 batters.
18. Layna Ayala, C, Melbourne (Fla.)
Headed to: Florida State
Hit .495 with 16 home runs and 10 triples for the Bulldogs. Back in March, the backstop mashed a home run in six consecutive games.
19. Parker Malone, IF, Veterans Memorial (Corpus Christi, Texas)
Headed to: South Carolina
Led all sophomores in 2025 with 23 home runs while recording 87 RBI and a .626 batting average. Started her junior season with a pair of extra-base hits in the Eagles' first game Monday.
20. Kaylee Hodges, P, Matoaca (Chesterfield, Va.)
Headed to: Tennessee
Hodges had a 0.07 ERA and 244 strikeouts as a sophomore. Helped herself with the bat by hitting .500 and driving in 20 runs.
