After a string of seven wins, The Webb Schools Gauls's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 42-32 to Avalon. The Webb Schools was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Avalon apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Saturday.
Several Gauls players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Xajani Badkar, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Badkar hasn't dropped below two steals for 18 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Rabadi, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
The Webb Schools' defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Avalon, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Webb Schools will take on Newport Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Avalon won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Magnolia Science Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 24th. Magnolia Science Academy's defense has only allowed 29.7 points per game this season, so Avalon's offense will have their work cut out for them.
